LockDownBrowser & Monitor

The Respondus LockDown Browser (RLDB) is a locked browser that prevents students from printing, copying, going to another URL, or accessing other applications during an assessment. When the RLDB is enabled for a quiz, students will be required to download and use RLDB to take the quiz or exam.

Respondus Monitor is an automated proctoring feature that can be turned on when using the RLDB that uses a student’s webcam and video analytics to help instructors catch cheating.

It is highly recommended to conduct a practice quiz with students prior to them taking the first graded assessment in RLDB and Monitor. Please contact the SON TEC Team if you would like a copy of a practice test added to you course.

Note: Respondus LockDown Browser is not currently available for use with Chromebooks.
